MURCIA region registered the longest average stays in Spain at campsites in January and the fourth longest at tourist apartments, a National Statistics Institute (INE) report revealed.
While the average stay at campsites for the country as a whole was 8.64 days, in Murcia an average of 20.41 was recorded.
Eighteen Murcia campsites were open in January, offering an estimated 14,815 places and providing work for 181 people.
A total of 115,348 over-night stays were registered, with 3,628 of the 5,650 visitors coming from abroad.
Average stays at tourist apartments were for 6.88 days, the fourth longest in the country.
