A GERMAN lady staying in Gandia made a young girl’s day recently by writing back to her after receiving a letter from her in a balloon.
Carmen, a primary school student from Parla in Madrid, sent a balloon flying with a message inside as part of her school’s activities on World Peace and Anti-Violence day on January 30.
The balloon was carried through the skies from Parla and ended up in Gandia, where Anne, a lady from Munich, Germany, spending the winter in the town, found it and decided to reply by sending a letter to the school.
Young Carmen’s message, which has been shared by the Parla council’s education department, expressed her wish that all children were able to go to school.
Anne wrote back saying that she sincerely hoped the young girl’s wishes became true and suggested the two became pen-friends, pointing out how far the young girl’s balloon for peace had travelled.
