A MAN was arrested in the Soledat area of Palma after allegedly attacking his partner and fleeing the scene.

Neighbours in the building alerted the police after they heard screams.

A man bumped into the officers at the entrance door and told them: “Go to the third floor, a huge mess is going on up there.”

Once the police entered the flat, they found the victim, a 45-year-old woman, who told them the suspect had arrived intoxicated at the property and had begun screaming, breaking furniture and smashing electrical appliances on the ground while attacking her.

The woman presented injuries on her face, and the alleged attacker’s 24-year-old son, who was also present, had tried to defend her.

After they described the suspect, a 44-year-old man, police officers realised that it was the man they had bumped into at the front door, who had taken the chance to escape. The man was apprehended shortly after.
