THE Costa del Sol town of San Pedro is planning to create a coordinated image, with matching terraces and fronts for shops and cafes, in an aim to improve the image of the area and attract more visitors.
The 50 businesses in the Calle Marques del Duero area will have two years to meet the guidelines set out in the project, which include matching sunshades and wooden platforms on terraces.
Councillor Jose Eduardo Diaz and Abel Rivero, president of Apymespa small businesses association (which contributed to plans for the project) explained that similar schemes in other areas including Marbella’s Avenida Miguel Cano and Boulevard San Pedro had proved successful, and that council grants would be available to help cover costs.
