FIFA appeal

THE Gibraltar Football Association (GFA) is to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in their quest to become members of FIFA. After successfully joining UEFA, the GFA request to join FIFA was rejected, but it will now be taking the appeal to the same court that admitted the Rock to UEFA. FIFA argued that Gibraltar is not an independent country, but the GFA says that this was not a FIFA rule when Gibraltar made its first application in 1997. The appeal will be heard on May 21, a week before the FIFA Congress that admits new members.
