Businesses joining forces…

Europe’s biggest free English Language newspaper group is proud to announce it has joined Spain’s premier British business association.

The Euro Weekly News (EWN) is delighted to have become a member the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain which in its long and proud history has proved to be an invaluable ally for businesses throughout the country.

The EWN Media Group has six editions covering the Spanish Costas and Mallorca with a remit to keep English speakers of all nationalities informed of all the latest news in their areas, plus a selection of the most important Spanish national news.

With Spain’s leading English news website and the EWN Gets It Business Directory, it offers the expatriate population a comprehensive local and national news service.

That in turn offers businesses in Spain the perfect vehicle to reach their target market through advertising.

As a group, the EWN is owned and staffed by people with a deep understanding of the expatriate way of life and the issues that really matter to our readers, both in print and on the web.

As the leading free publication in each of its regions –  Costa Blanca North, Costa Blanca South, Mallorca, Almeria, Costa del Sol and Axarquia/Costa Tropical – we know what our clients and readers want.

The figures speak for themselves. More than 4,000 distribution points, from which 134,000 copies are picked up every week throughout the year, mean businesses know they will get the maximum reach when they invest in a publicity campaign through the EWN. And it is all backed up by a professional and popular website. No other English language media group in Spain can offer the expertise, knowledge and experience the EWN can.

The British Chamber of Commerce (BCC) has been active in Spain since 1908 when it was founded in Barcelona as a privately-funded, non-profit making organisation.

It is the only independent Hispano-British business organisation and currently has a total of 264 member companies.

The BCC’s mission is to facilitate trade and investment amongst members in front of key decision makers and contribute to the development of their visibility and business relationships. Some of the biggest and most important organisations in Spain and the UK are members – including Banco Santander, easyJet Airline Spain and GlaxoSmithKline – as well as a significant number of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s). Around 50 events are organised annually that allow members to establish new business and commercial relationships, improve their position in the market, and share ideas, experiences and information.

The BCC has strong roots in the south of Spain, with the creation of a committee in Andalucia in 2007. Membership is growing steadily and a number of different events are held each year. As the UK/Spain’s leading business promoter, the Chamber offers a variety of different services ranging from simple referrals from email, web and telephone enquiries to brokering business partnerships between different organisations via media coverage from local, national and international press.

Some of the benefits that membership entails includes sponsorship opportunities, an exclusive annual interview published in the BCC newsletter, company publicity on the BCC’s website and social media, exclusive meetings with government representatives and entities, organisation of joint events and participation as speaker, and meetings with the Chamber Director to discuss joint initiatives.
