NEATER HEATERS have now been warming homes in Spain since 2009. These stylish Norwegian convector heaters are quite simply the most efficient way to provide cost-effective electric central heating for your home.

“One of the real challenges we face, however,” said Tony, “is public perception. We have always sold Neater Heaters as electric central heating. In other words, they are radiators, and not fires. In the UK we have centrally heated homes with full insulation, double glazing, windows and doors that fit properly, and we still light fires when we settle in for the evening. Yet in Spain some people expect to create a tropical paradise in their draughty non-insulated homes with just a few low-wattage electric heaters.

“I suppose we were the same once. However, having tried many options, we discovered Neater Heaters from Norway and haven’t looked back.”

“Another challenge we have faced recently,” said Richard, “is confusion about what a Neater Heater is. We were recently tipped off that some people were being less than complimentary about Neater Heaters in an expat forum.

“Now, we don’t monitor forums, but we decided to have a peek and it soon became apparent that the heater being criticised was an eco-heater, not a Neater Heater. An eco-heater is a flat piece of metal that heats up hot enough to fry an egg on.

“It is not designed to circulate air. It is what we were looking to replace in our home when we discovered Neater Heaters, which do not themselves heat up, but instead they heat up the air inside them. This hot air rises out through the top of the heater drawing cold air in through the vents at the base.

“The cold air, in turn, heats up and rises, leading to convection heating. Convection simply means hot air rises.

“This as opposed to oil-filled heaters which lose energy at each of their three stages of conduction: element heats the oil, the oil heats the metal carcass of the heater, the metal carcass heats the air – but not much as it has a relatively small contact surface area.

“Our heaters can be wall mounted or additional feet can be purchased to enable them to be freestanding.”
