European investors place offer for Guadalpin hotels

AN INVESTMENT group has made an offer to purchase parts of Guadalpin Hotels in Marbella from developer Aifos, currently undergoing liquidation, for €16.1 million.

Lumitran System, a group working mainly for Swiss and central European investors, has offered to take over areas of the Marbella and Puerto Banus hotels owned by Aifos.

Although the group would not take over management of the hotels, the majority part of the two buildings, a plot of land behind the Puerto Banus hotel and the Guadalpin brand-name are included in the purchase offer.

The Malaga court supervising the liquidation process will have to approve the sale, which would help Aifos to pay off debts with Caixabank and Marbella Town Hall.
