WORK is underway at three schools in the Elche municipality to remove prefabricated classrooms.
Almost €300,000 is being invested in schools in Valverde, El Altet and La Hoya.
At El Altet five new classrooms are being built to replace the five temporary portacabins, costing around €98,000.
The school in Valverde is having a new classroom constructed next to the main building, and new central heating, costing around €97,000.
A new classroom is also being built in La Hoya with a budget of €78,000.
