FUENGIROLA pensioners are discovering the joys of keeping in touch with friends and relatives via the internet, thanks to free classes given by the council.
Space is still available for Spanish speakers who are registered on the padron in Fuengirola and have a pensioner’s card, the council explained.
“Old people aren’t just here to watch TV or play dominos,” said Juan Francisco Arenas, a 77-year-old man who has started keeping in touch with his son in the north of Spain via Facebook.
Although lessons on Twitter are planned, most of the students taking the course said they liked Facebook more as it seemed easier to share photos and videos there.
