FORMER King of Spain Juan Carlos has appealed against a paternity suit placed against him by Belgian Ingrid Jeanne Sartiau, the Supreme Court has announced.

The high court also informed that the Belgian woman, who claims to be the former king’s daughter, has also put in an appeal as Juan Carlos did not respond to a request for DNA tests to be carried out.

The appeals will now be passed on to the other parties and the prosecutor. Once reports are provided by both sides the court will reach a decision, a judicial source informed today (February 14).
