FILMING of a new movie in Benalmadena saw actor Mario Casas take a vertigo-defying leap between balconies of a Benalmadena Hotel.

The actor from Galicia plays the character of Toro, who gets involved in fights, races and chases, and carries out daredevil stunts, including a Spiderman-style leap between tenth floor balconies of the Aloha hotel in Benalmadena.

Wearing harnesses, the actor shunned using stuntmen and made the leap himself on a windy day that had spectators’ hair standing on end.

Producer Enrique Lavigne posted on Twitter: “Mario Casas has just done something I hadn’t seen done since Belmondo… leap from one balcony to another.”

Toro, which also stars Jose Sacristan, Luis Tosar and Ingrid Garcia Jonsson, tells the tale of two brothers who meet on the Costa del Sol after the younger of the two, Toro, is released from jail.

The pair have to flee the area when a mafia member puts a price on their heads over an unpaid debt.

The film, which is played out over a 48-hour period, is directed by Kike Maillo and produced by Apaches, Atresmedia Cine, Zircozine, Escandalo Films, Maestranza Films and Ran Entertainment.
