Be spoilt for choice at Let’s Eat

SALMON: With lemon butter glaze.

LET’S EAT is one of the first restaurants to implement new legislation regarding food labelling.

From December 2014, it was required that all eating establishments comply with allergy information and highlight any of the 14 listed ingredients that may be in food, from the common allergies such as eggs, gluten and nuts, to rarer potential allergies from mustard, celery and white beans.

Head chef and co-owner Tony Cheblus said previously it was down to the customers to inform restaurants of any allergies, but the responsibility now lies in the hands of the establishment: “We have broken down all our recipes and highlighted potential allergy ingredients and our menu now has all the correct symbols to make customers aware of what is in the dishes and to comply with the new regulations.” He added: “All our dishes are made completely from scratch, including sauces, so we were able to do this relatively easily.”

With redesigning the menu to accommodate the new allergy information, it gave Let’s Eat a good excuse to overhaul their menu adding some new fresh dishes for 2015. The starters remain largely the same, but have been streamlined allowing the talented team in the kitchen to further focus on quality and not quantity.

Lamb shank French style is a new main served braised with garlic and rosemary. It is joined by the new Somerset pork medallions with cider and prunes and apple mash potato and salmon with lemon butter glaze and a prawn and lobster sauce.

For those with a sweet tooth, try the new lemon cheesecake, Bailey’s butterscotch pavlova, triple chocolate brownie or raspberry crème brulee.

The ever-popular three course menu de la noche remains available at the same price of €14.95, but now includes a free half bottle of wine, soft drink or beer.

A drink is now also included on the Sunday lunch menu, costing €11.50 for three courses.

Let’s Eat in Benimar, Benijofar, is currently open Tuesday to Saturdays from 6.30pm and Sundays from 1-4pm. It is also available during the day for private functions such as wedding receptions and group meetings and Tony and his team are happy to speak with you to discuss personalised menu options.
