A CLEANING brigade with special skills has been created to remove graffiti from natural park areas in Alicante Province.

The Department of Infrastructure, responsible for the network of national parks in the province of Alicante, has launched a crusade to clean graffiti from rocks and protected areas of the province and remove the marks from the landscape.

Teams have begun work in some of the most difficult-to-reach and dangerous areas, including the Rock of Ifach in Calpe.

The Natural Park of Peñon de Ifach is one of the most-visited protected areas in Valencia, and although there are strict rules for visitors in order to maintain the balance of the environment, there are acts of graffiti. To restore the areas, the cleaning teams are using harnesses and ropes to clean the face of the rock.
