TWO students from Crevillente, Costa Blanca, have been recognised and awarded for their courage and bravery after helping to avert a tragedy.
The two youngsters from were on a bus with 31 other students travelling to the University of Alicante in November last year. As reported in The Euro Weekly News at the time, they noticed that the driver had passed out and they grabbed the steering wheel and managed to avoid it crashing on the A-7 motorway.
With the driver regaining consciousness moments later, the bus left the motorway and parked at the IFA exhibition centre as the emergency services were called.
The CEOs of Vectalia Group, which owns the bus company, Antonio Arias and Jose Luis Romillo, met with the students and thanked them for their courage.
