ASIAN tourists are flocking to try out churros at Ronda’s long-standing establishments where the traditional batter rounds are fried.
Chinese, Japanese and Korean people can be seen wandering the city searching for chocolate and churros for breakfast as news of the tasty snack has spread like wildfire amongst visitors, who are quick to inform their fellow countrymen of their finds.
Bar owner Pepi Arias said that Asian tourists come every day to taste their churros and they don’t even need to look at the menu to decide what they want.
Arias explained that the tourists take photos of their churros before taking a bite and, although they don’t often speak Spanish, she can tell from their expressions, and the fact that more and more are coming every day, that they like what they taste.
