Beauty clinic owner arrested for fraud

Facebook, Rejuvenart

NATIONAL POLICE have arrested the owner of a cosmetic and dental clinic in Palma for defrauding his customers.

The detainee is a 49-year-old Spanish citizen from Colombia, head of the centre called Rejuvenart, located in Calle Unio.

The authorities were alerted by 12 customers who had paid in advance for services they never received, and an investigation was begun.

The victims would reportedly buy discounted cosmetic treatments online. The man would perform the first session but fail to carry out the rest, repeatedly putting them off.

The defrauded amount is estimated at €10,000 so far, although Local Police are aware of at least 23 other victims who have not yet issued a lawsuit.

After the man was taken into custody, it was confirmed that he owed several months of rent payments to the property’s owner. He had also hired six workers without a contract and failed to pay their salaries.

After testifying before the court he was released with charges.
