THE world’s top darts players will be displaying their bullseye skills in Gibraltar next month, as the Gibraltar Darts Trophy gets under way at the end of March.
For three days Gibraltar will be the centre of the darts world and welcome world champion Gary Anderson, world number one Michael van Gerwen and reigning Gibraltar Darts Trophy winner James Wade. First prize is £25,000 (€33,000).
Organised by the Ministry of Sports in conjunction with the Professional Darts Corporation, the event is one of nine European Tour events in 2015 and will be streamed live on the internet.
From March 20 to 22, the Tercentenary Sports Hall will host six sessions, including the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final on the Sunday evening from 7pm.
Tickets are available from the Ministry of Sports at City Hall, John Mackintosh Square, between 9am and 4pm. Telesales facilities are also available by phoning 0035 200 47592 or email mschy.info@gibraltar.gov.gi.
