Blackie finds a playmate

REGULAR readers of this column may remember about nine months ago we wrote about a shy black cat living on the coast in Fuengirola, and the American house sitter who came to stay to care for him while his owners were on holiday.

We are happy to report that based on the success of that housesit, the owners are planning ahead for holidays in March and July.

Derek and Jenni the owners explained to me recently that they had noticed Blackie, their cat, hanging out with a little friend – a beautiful tortoiseshell.

They were often to be seen together sitting near each other in the shade of the garden.

After many enquiries it appeared that the very pretty tortoiseshell might be abandoned, so they began to feed her, and she stayed. The two felines really do appear to be firm friends.

The next house sits posted tentatively for March and July will need a cat lover, happy to care for two cats, the shy Blackie and his very pretty and newly adopted little friend Ginger. Anyone for a spot of cat sitting in July?
