TORREMOLINOS Council has sacked the municipal tow-truck company and is looking for a new one.
Following reports last November that the local police force had issued the town’s tow-truck with a €200 fine for not meeting regulations, the council decided to step in and remove the offending truck, which had been the cause of a number of complaints from both citizens and police officers.
The offending vehicle was reported to be missing headlights and other signals and to have not passed an ITV technical inspection since 2010. The company was also suspected of being behind on payment of salaries.
