Mojacar works on improvements

AS a continuation of the work of clearing the streetlights, benches and bins on the promenade of Mojacar conducted in November in 2014, repairs are now being carried out in several streets of the town.

The work involves the replacement of damaged streetlights and placing new lights in areas that lacked them previously.

The town council has installed a dozen new lampposts in the neighbourhood of Cuartillas and on Calle Esquimo that until now had no such lighting.

The replacement and maintenance of existing streetlights has been carried out on Calle Bellavista, Calle Atalayones, Plaza Rey Alabez, and Avenida Encamp. This work has included painting the lampposts to improve the aesthetic image of the town.

Likewise, the town council has been undertaking repairs and maintenance of playgrounds, from Marina de la Torre to Cueva del Lobo. This work encompasses painting the most damaged areas, installing new swings and restoring those in poor condition.

The council estimates that the work will last for approximately one month, but will continue making more arrangements for the municipality as it approaches Easter and the summer season.
