MIJAS village will soon have a new alternative route to get out of the old town and reduce traffic in the area.
Mayor Angel Nozal said: “These are some of the most important roadworks that will be done in Mijas. If there were an emergency, such as an earthquake, and Calle Malaga was cut off, many locals would be trapped, therefore we need another way out.”
A 6.5-metre wide platform is being created to link Calle Cristobal Alarcon and Avenida del Compas, creating a southern ring road for the village.
