Deal fuels Costa del Sol tourism with €1 million

THE Costa del Sol is to receive €1 million to improve the area and attract more tourists.

Malaga Provincial Council leader Elias Bendodo, Industry, Energy and Tourism minister Jose Manuel Soria and Costa del Sol Mancomunidad towns’ association leader, Margarita del Cid, signed an agreement at FITUR tourism fair in Madrid to provide the funds for the second phase of a plan that financed 11 projects last year.

From improvements to residential areas favoured by tourists, to hiking and rural tourism attractions, the plan aims to continue attracting visitors following a year that went down in history with more than 10 million visitors registered.
