TOURISM is to have an injection of €1.6 million to support employment in Valencia Region.
President of the Generalitat regional government, Alberto Fabra, said the money is to be invested in the tourist towns and municipalities to help hire around 600 unemployed people to work in tourism.
Speaking at the FITUR international tourism fair in Madrid, he added that he hoped to attract 800,000 new visitors to the region this year, after 2014 broke records with more than six million foreign tourists.
The president added that tourism training would be increased to generate employment and boost businesses.
