Fire engine rolls over in Velez-Malaga

A FIRE engine was involved in an accident today (February 2) at the roundabout to access Velez-Malaga.

The incident took place this morning at around 10.15am on the A-356 road, when the engine, which was on its way to put out a fire in Nerja, rolled over as it was driving round the roundabout.

According to the head of the Provincial Fire Department, Manual Marmolejo, the vehicle was not going at a high speed and he believes it could have mounted the roundabout’s kerb.

The driver was taken to the Hospital Comarcal but was released in good health shortly after.
