EMERGENCY services rushed to the scene when a woman was injured in a crash on the outskirts of Albox.
The accident occurred on the A-334, the main road between Albox and Arboleas, when it is reported a silver car drifted into the lane where the woman was driving her small white car. Both cars were written off, although the female driver’s smaller car came off worse.
The entire front was folded and fire services had to cut the woman out before transferring her by ambulance to Hospital La Inmaculada at Huercal Overa. She had suffered multiple severe injuries.
The male driver of the other car escaped serious injury, although he was very visibly upset and needed to be calmed by a local police auxiliary. He was spoken to by the police, who were on the scene very quickly and also assisted in freeing the woman.
The investigation continues to discover how the silver car could have drifted into the path of oncoming traffic.
