NERJA’S FESTIVAL: Flamenco show during the 2012 edition.
THE 56th edition of the Nerja Caves International Music and Dance Festival has added a new setting for its popular concerts.
The festival, which started in 1960, has traditionally been celebrated in the Nerja Caves but this summer four of the concerts will take place in the Plaza de España, near the Balcon de Europa.
News was announced by head of the Nerja Caves foundation, Jorge Hernandez Mollar, and president of the Provincial Council, Elias Bendodo, at the international tourism fair FITUR.
“The festival will offer eight concerts, four of them inside the caves and the rest performed for the first time at the new setting in Plaza de España,” said Mr Hernandez.
He added that the festival is the most important event that takes place in the cave with a budget of €430,000.
Tickets for the festival will be available from April 29.
