HAMILTON: Testing the Mercedes W05 at Jerez in 2014.
THE F1 roadshow is coming to Jerez with the first winter testing sessions of the new season.
It gives motoring fans a chance to see their heroes in action and also the first good look at this year’s new cars.
Mercedes has chosen the event to officially launch their new model, the W06, which World Champion Lewis Hamilton will be hoping is as dominant as last year’s car.
Also being launched in the next few days are the new Ferrari, Mclaren-Honda and Torro Rosso which will get their first official runs at the Jerez circuit from February 1 to 4.
Nico Rosberg will have first go behind the wheel of the new Mercedes before handing over to Hamilton on Day Two of testing.
Team boss Toto Wolff said: “The workload this winter has been as great as ever. Where last year we were preparing for an all-new formula of racing, we are now faced with the big challenge of the next step in our development. We know we went into winter with a target on our backs for the other teams – our rivals will be competi-tive from the start in Melbourne.”
