TREE PLAN: 6,000 new trees have been planted in Estepona since 2012.
ESTEPONA children are invited to take part in the council’s One Tree, One Life campaign and adopt a local tree in the Costa del Sol town.
Those wishing to join the more than 250 children who have adopted a tree so far may do so by filling in an application form at the Citizen’s Participation department offices, stating where the tree they want to adopt is and why they want to adopt that one in particular. A copy of the child’s ID or a family identity book and €5 to cover the cost of the plaque are also required.
Proceeds from the campaign go to Aprona Association for the mentally disabled.
Pilar Fernandez-Figares, Estepona Resource Management councillor, reminded citizens that the campaign continues and also explained that the council’s Tree Plan has planted 6,000 trees since it began in 2012 with 540 due to be planted on Avenida Puerta del Mar over the next few days.
