WORK has officially started on a new Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV) centre in Mijas, Cost del Sol, which is due to open in July 2016.
The Junta de Andalucia regional government estimates that once the Mijas centre is open (the eighth in Malaga Province) approximately 30,000 driving hours and €250,000 in fuel per year will be saved by drivers having to take their vehicles for inspection.
The new centre in Las Lagunas, Mijas, has a budget of €1,651,239.79 and is expected to create 14 new jobs and carry out up to 60,000 vehicle inspections per year.
