WORK is underway at Malaga City port to create a refuelling station for large cruise and cargo ships.
The new service, while appearing to be a minor detail, could encourage more cruise companies to include Malaga in their routes as the new tanks will have more than sufficient capacity to refuel large ships.
Construction is expected to be complete by March and, following necessary tests and issue of permits, the service should begin on July 1.
