THREE mountain climbers were rescued last Friday (January 23) near the Cuber water reservoir, Mallorca, after a long and complicated rescue operation.
The climbers, who were abseiling in a stream near the reservoir, had to alert the Guardia Civil mountain rescue (GREIM) after they got trapped in one of the most difficult stretches of the route and realised they could not get out by their own means.
Apart from the harshness of the surface, the climbers were already exhausted from their effort and could not complete the descent.
The Guardia Civil mountain rescue group (GREIM), together with the fire department of Mallorca, lifted the three men out of the stream using ropes after 12 hours spent under the water.
