A MAN who was facing a 23-year jail sentence will finally go free after a long drawn-out court process.
The 40-year-old man was accused in 2012 by his ex-girlfriend of a number of crimes including sexual aggression, threats and demeaning treatment.
Yet a Malaga Provincial Court has found the man not-guilty, stating that the woman’s arguments were not convincing, there was no evidence of mistreatment on medical reports and the man appeared honest and sincere throughout the hearing.
Witness statements were also taken into account, including that of a previous partner of the accused, who referred to him as a peaceful, loving man who never so much as raised his voice.
The man’s lawyer declared that his client had had a horrible time in the two-and-a-half years since the accusations began and expressed hope that the court would hear a case for false accusations.
