POLITICIANS in Marbella have demanded that the council removes a coat of arms from Franco times from the town hall building.
The left-wing coalition demanded that the symbol be eliminated after the Junta de Andalucia regional government approved a Law Of Democratic Memory.
Councillor and provincial delegate Miguel Diaz said that the symbol, on a stained-glass window on the second floor stairs of the town hall, was illegal and offensive.
The councillor stressed his hope that Mayor Angeles Muñoz would not continue to resist removing the emblem.
