FORTY students at the University of Malaga passed a course after managing to collect 11,000 selfies taken with crocodiles.
Teacher Alberto Postigo gave his class the task to help them learn the power of social media.
Although the students needed to collect 5,000 photos to pass the course, they managed to gather more than double the amount thanks to teamwork.
Knowing how social media works is very important for future lawyers, Postigo said.
Under the tag #CrocoProyect, students shared photos with crocodiles on sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vine and convinced other users to help.
One of the students, Antonio Lechado, said that although at first he thought the task was rather strange, he actually found it useful and interesting.
To celebrate their success, the teacher and his students wore crocodile masks during the last week of the course.
