Rojales gets in the mood for jazz

THE ‘Music Without Borders’ event takes place in Rojales, Costa Blanca South, from March 6 – 20 with live music every Friday night at the Capitol Teatro.

The event launches with Grant Stewart on March 6. Grant is one of the most prestigious saxophonists on the jazz scene in New York and first visited Spain in 1995. The Canadian musician will be joined by the Fabio Miano Trio for the one-off concert.

On March 13, Serbian double bassist Ivan Kovacevic plays. After 14 years of living in Barcelona, he became one of the most sought-after musicians in Spanish rhythm ‘n’ blues, swing and jazz, and has been a member of several well-known bands, including Los Mambo Jambo, Down Home and Nu Niles.

On March 20, singer Lidia Arquellada will be performing, featuring Ricardo Belda. Lidia is one of the most solid performers of the current Spanish jazz scene and was educated in classical music before deciding to focus on jazz. Ricardo is a renowned jazz pianist and has performed across the world.
