Getting back in the swim

TORREVIEJA swimmers kicked off the New Year in a very positive manner.

On January 4, the Masters of the Club participated in the first ‘Social’ event of the year.

Social is four competitive races in 200m freestyle, 100m freestyle with fins, 25m with fins, completely underwater and a 8x50m freestyle relay.

The team: Beth Altabas, Adam and Lucy Stewart, Zoe and Vicki Connolly, swam well and clocked up some good times and made some new friends with other swimmers. 

The younger members of the club had a good day in their first competition of the year in the municipal pool, San Vincente.

Most of the team achieved new personal best times in their first timed Regional Control of the year. The team of Yuriy Flyunt, Amy Connolly, Vilja Bilstad, Vicky Pigneur, Georgy and Konstantin Murskiy, Patrick Met and Vitalio Veres all worked hard in the 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly, and 200m butterfly races.

Vicky had two very good swims and came first in her 100m freestyle and 200m butterfly events. Vilja, Amy, Georgy and Vitalio all reduced their best times by more than four seconds.
