FOUR schools in Mallorca will take part in a pioneering project titled ‘Stick your tongue out,’ aimed at studying organisms in the human mouth.

More than 2,000 secondary students around the country will donate a sample of their saliva, which scientists will use to find out whether the variety of bacteria and other organisms in the human mouths is conditioned by environment or lifestyle.

Around 10 per cent of participating schools are from Mallorca, including the San Pedro, Josep Suereda I Blanes in Palma, Santanyi and Josep Sureda Secondary Schools.
