MARBELLA Town Hall is putting speed traps on a number of black spots within the area to encourage drivers to respect speed limits.

Signs are being put up to warn drivers of the radars, which will be in operation in the near future.

One spot where the sign is already in place is the stretch of road between the so-called ‘Three Ships’ roundabout and the Marbella arch. Although the speed limit for the stretch is 50 km/h, very few drivers respect this.

Juan Garcia, a local resident, said: “People are going slower now just in case the radar is working.”

Nueva Andalucia roads will also receive radars in an attempt to slow drivers down as local residents have been complaining of the problem for some time.
