ESTEPONA Council has launched a scheme to reduce electricity bills for schools in the Costa del Sol town by about €20,000 per year.
Work had commenced to swap traditional fluorescent tubes for LED bulbs at the Santo Tomas de Aquino infant and primary school, Resources Management councilor, Pilar Fenrandez-Figares, explained.
The first part of the scheme involves installing a total of 3,015 LED bulbs worth €75,000 in schools. The work will take one month and be carried out at the Cancelada, Ramon Garcia, Maria Espinosa and Santo Tomas de Aquino schools, and Cancelada and El Nido municipal nurseries.
