CHAMPAGNE BOTTLE: More expensive in Palma than in many other cities around the world.
BUYING a bottle of Champagne in Palma de Mallorca costs a pretty penny.
According to a study conducted by residential and commercial property consultancy Knight Frank, Champagne is more expensive in Palma than in many other cities around the world, at a cost of, on average, €140 per bottle. Madrid is the only Spanish city where it costs more to buy a bottle of bubbly, at a cost of €250 per bottle.
The study goes on to say that the cost of living in Palma is among the highest in the world, which puts the city alongside Ottawa, Cyprus, Madrid and Dubai as the most expensive places to live.
However, the good news is that Palma ranks high among the cities with the best quality of life, with Copenhagen, Auckland, Madrid and Geneva.
