RESIDENTS of Salou in Tarragona, Cataluña, can rest easy now a boy who was recently found tied to a lamp-post has confessed to making his kidnapping up because he hadn’t done his homework.
The fifth-year primary school student finished school as normal at 5pm but failed to turn up at his nearby home and was found three hours later tied to a lamp-post in the Salut district of the town by two women walking their dogs.
The boy’s parents and police were immediately called as he claimed not to remember what had happened and he was taken to hospital for examination.
After doctors revealed that there was no physical evidence of harm or drugs, the boy was sent home and later confessed to his parents that he had made the whole thing up because he hadn’t done his homework.
The angry parents took their son to the police station and made him own up.
Once the truth of the matter went public, locals breathed sighs of relief having feared at first that a kidnapper was at large in the area.
