MEMBERS returned after the Christmas and New Year break at Marina Phoenix in Almeria to play an individual stableford.

With 36 points George Waghorn took the honours, followed by Rod Ambrose (35) and Antonio Ubeda (34) in third. Isobel Jones (32) won the ladies’ division from Margaret Budd (30) and June Nicol (28) in third.

Eleven teams contested the team game, on Thursday. With the best two to count on each hole, the winners were Bob Craig, Isobel Jones and José Nistal on 74 points. Second place went to June Nicol, Sheila Watts and Don Atkins (72) and third were Kenny Nicol, Mike Schorfield and Val Cook (71). There were nearest the pin prizes for Alan Cook, Rod Ambrose and Marcos Caparros.
