Teenage singer craze in Nerja

TEENAGE pop idol Abraham Mateo swept up Nerja with a free concert that gathered fans from all corners of Spain.

The Plaza de España was chosen as the setting for the performance. Hundreds of girls, often accompanied by their parents, spent the night at the square to be as close to their idol as possible, despite the cold temperatures.

Abraham Mateo was born in 1998 in Cadiz. His music career started at seven-years-old and he received the National Revelation award when he was only nine-years-old. The video of his first single Señorita has received more than 50 million visits. He is also socially engaged and donated all proceeds of his third single to the charity association UNICEF.

The event, organised by the Nerja Caves Foundation and the town’s council, was a part of the Christmas programme and a participation success.
