RESCUE teams recovered the body of a 60-year-old Austrian woman on Monday, December 29, who froze to death after an accident in Sierra Nevada.
Two members of a party of four climbers attempting to reach the top of the Pico de Veleta raised the alarm that their companions had disappeared and could be injured just after 1pm on Sunday, December 28.
Another climber from the same group, a man in his 50s, was found in the early hours of Monday morning with signs of hypothermia and taken to a health centre at Pradollano ski resort for treatment.
The body of the deceased woman was found at 7.40am in the La Carihuela area of the mountains.
