Christmas generosity on the Orihuela coast

TOYS and gifts have been gathering in the entrance of the town hall in Playa Flamenca for children in need this year.

Toy collections are done every year, given to Caritas to distribute, mainly in Orihuela City, but after councillor for the Coast Martina Scheurer contacted the local priest and discovered there were around 75 families being helped on the Orihuela Costa, she lobbied for the gifts to stay on the coast: “They have been donated by local residents and will now be distributed locally to those who need it and this year we have more gifts given than last year.”

Among everyone who contributed, the town hall would like to specifically thank the Little Pod association and the Rendezvous Social Club for their numerous contributions and to ‘Santa’ Mel Roberts who brought a sack full of chocolates for the children.
