GIBRALTAR was well-represented at this year’s Miss World contest, held in London last weekend.
Not only did Shyanne Azzopardi do the Rock proud as Miss Gibraltar 2014, but former Miss World and Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino was on the judging panel for this year’s prestigious beauty pageant.
The overall winner of Miss World 2014 went to Miss South Africa, 22-year-old Rolene Strauss.
Miss Hungary and Miss United States came in second and third.
Shyanne, 23-years-old, had travelled to the UK with the hopes of clinching the title and following in Aldorino’s footsteps. The teaching assistant and zumba instructor was crowned Miss Gibraltar in June of this year.
Another recent pageant saw local beauty and Miss Gibraltar’s second princess, Claire Nuñez, travel to Poland to compete in the Miss Supranational 2014 event. India’s Asha Bhat won the pageant.
