MIJAS Renta Basica employment scheme workers are burning 14 lorry loads of garden rubbish on a municipal plot in order to reduce recycling costs. Citizens need not feel alarmed if they see smoke, as extreme safety measures are in place for this work, explained Employment councillor Lourdes Burgos during a visit to the site. Special permission was requested by Mijas Servicios Complementarios municipal company to burn the debris on weekday mornings.
