Ruta de la tapa for food fans in Almanzora valley

GASTRONOMIC fans can enjoy the Ruta de la Tapa, currently taking place in the Almanzora valley.

The Ruta de la Tapa runs until December 28 and features 31 eateries across 11 municipalities in the valley.

Diners can enjoy tapa dishes designed especially for the ruta before voting for their favourites.

Examples of dishes include cod lollipops smothered in a pisto and nestled on a prawn sauce (Hotel La Parrilla, Albox) or medallions of morcilla served with potatoes cooked in piquillo and romero sauces (Restaurante La Piscina de Armuña, Armuña de Almanzora).

If eating isn’t enough, there is a chance to win one of three different artisan hampers containing homemade goods from across the Almanzora valley as well as a Samsung tablet.

The hampers include such goods as awardwinning Seron ham, honey from Lubrin, cheeses from Bedar, beers from Velefique and olive oil from a number of places in the area.

Each hamper contains a minimum of eight different items.

All the participating venues will have voting cards and participants need them stamped by six different eateries.
