Thousands raised by golfers

THE Rhys Daniels Trust, which the Euro Weekly News is proud to support, has raised thousands of euros more to help the families of desperately ill children.

It held a Christmas Charity Golf Challenge at the Marbella Club Golf Resort, Benahavis.

The charity’s founder, Barry Daniels said: “We had 40 golfers taking part in the challenge, with the best two scores from four and an individual prize.”

The winning team prize went to The Mickey’s and the individual prize to Luke Wood. The Kudu Bar won the team golf quiz, Paul Sollari won Nearest the Pin and Brett Little won Longest Drive, with the prizes donated by Tine from International Marbella and Mila from MP Consulting Spain.

The fun event finished off with Christmas lunch at La Sala Restaurant, Puerto Banus.

Barry said: “Thanks must go to Lindsey Medina and golf pro Jason Duo who were both such a great help towards this event. Our favourite comic Stan Boardman was there and Brett Little did a fantastic job hosting the event at La Sala with great entertainment from Joanna and Dru with the sounds of Motown.”

To cap off the day it was announced that €3,320 was raised for the Rhys Daniels Trust which provides a home from home to care for seriously ill children and their families when travelling to specialist children’s hospitals a long way from home for treatment.
